Who TF is this guy?

My journey into fitness started after I discovered CrossFit in 2006 during deployment to Iraq with my infantry unit, the 82nd Airborne. A battle buddy of mine showed me the main site and said “we should do one of these workouts”. We chose Helen and used the treadmills, makeshift pull-up bar, and broken dumbbells to get it done. We promptly fell asleep on the treadmills post workout and I was hooked ever since.

After leaving the Army, I started a CrossFit gym called CrossFit Kona. After a year, I realized I wanted more education. I sold the gym equipment and let my friend take the CrossFit Kona name as I headed to the University of Hawaii to pursue a degree in Kinesiology and Rehabilitation Science. I started my collegiate career interning in the Athletics Strength and Conditioning Department for 3 yrs during my undergraduate studies.

After graduating, I began coaching at UMass Lowell taking that college into Division 1 and then had a short stint at West Point Military Academy (GO ARMY). I was also the Director for a youth sports performance gym that emphasized the use of timing gates and jump mats to train kids. I have also coached many Olympic Weightlifting athletes to multiple state records and podium finishes.

After getting my Masters degree in Sports Science and Performance, I worked as a Sports Scientist. After a few years in the corporate space, and some serious reflection, I’ve decided to leave a space that was no longer serving me, to start my own performance consulting business and return to what I’m passionate about, coaching.

I am a sailing instructor and lead U.S. Patriot Sailing: Team Seattle and competed in the Beaufort Cup at Volvo Cork Week in Corek, Ireland (2024).

My unique background, education, and near 20 years of experience allows me to offer high-level insights into your health and training that no other personal trainer, performance specialist, or strength coach can do. I’m excited to help you reach your strength and performance goals!
